Jenn + Blake, a dream bridal elopement!
I know what you are thinking right now: “Mireia, you told us that these weddings were Authentic Weddings with real brides, not fashion photo shoots”. But I have to tell you that… Yes! The photos you see are from a real wedding ! Even if it seems like a dream!
If you like reading about amazing but real weddings and their beautiful stories, you'll love Jenn and Blake's Big Day!
Their “fated chemistry”
The story of Jenn and Blake began thanks to their profession, as they were both nurses at the local hospital in Murfeesboro, Tennessee (United States). When Jenn told me what they did for a living, I knew instantly that I was in front of two people with big hearts , as this is a very altruistic, generous and emotional profession.
Blake was just starting out at the hospital , and Jenn was his mentor during the four weeks of training. But it was not necessary to wait long to know that there was something special between them, since they knew that they were made for each other from the second week! As Jenn says, " You can't resist that fated chemistry ." Wow! It was almost love at first sight!
The perfect harmony as a couple
When Jenn told me about her and Blake, I saw that they were in perfect harmony as a couple and as human beings. The two are always laughing at each other's silly jokes.
They are great lovers of color and enjoy painting very much. Jenn has a stunning tattoo on her back that Blake paired perfectly with the flower on the vest she wore to the wedding. Those details and this harmony is what excites me the most.
But what I see as most significant in this couple is their love for the simple, down-to-earth life . They enjoy sunlight and breezes on their faces, as well as taking long walks. As Jenn tells me: “ We're here for this crazy adventure called life , but we're so excited to do it together! We enjoy seeing the world for the beauty it has in its day-to-day life, when the rest just walks by .” I think this is a very authentic philosophy and full of truth; life is wonderful and we should stop and contemplate the world.
The 20th proposition
Jenn and Blake were together even in the proposal! Yes, I know that when someone proposes to their partner, the other is with him or her, but what I mean is that they both proposed to each other! They had talked many times about getting married and had proposed to each other like 19 times before they had their rings! But, when they finally had them, Blake asked Jenn and Jenn asked Blake , and they wore their rings from that day forward.
The big blue day
But what I love most about this wedding is that this is the first time I've heard of a “ nuptial elopement ”. Following their philosophy of a simple life, Jenn and Blake decided to have a very intimate wedding: no guests and no one else but them . As Jenn says “ In the end, when you find the right person, it's easy. All you need is him .”
Can you imagine getting married on a small Caribbean island? Jenn and Blake love the ocean, and they thought there was no better place than the Caribbean to see the amazing colors of the sea (and I think so too!).
So they had to find the right place to get married, thinking about the distance and whether they wanted to be able to return to that place in the future. And they found it! A small island in Turks and Caicos was chosen. But then Hurricane Irma hit , and their travel agent called them 4 days before the flight and told them they had to postpone the trip because of the damage. Jenn was super sad, that was not an option!
So Blake called the resort and the agent to tell them he was going to go anyway. And that was her best decision , because it turns out that they were the only guests in her hotel for her special day. "Absolute perfection," says Jenn. “ The ocean. The saturated blue colors of the sky and water. Everything was exactly what we had dreamed of .
The dress ♥
I'm really happy that Jenn chose a Mimètik dress for her elopement. Jenn was looking for “ easy flowing bohemian dresses ”, as she defines them, when she instantly fell in love with the Gala Rustic in Tulle with an ivory lace bandana . “ Simple, easy and stunning ”, thanks Jenn! I think it was perfect for your way of life.
Speaking to Jenn after her wedding, she explained that she absolutely loved her dress. I needed a wedding dress that could be folded for 12 hours and that would not end up with wrinkles and the Gala delivered! She also loved the fact that it was one size fits all, because then no one has to go on big diets , which is a stress reliever for the bride . Also, during wedding photography, they went into the ocean and a pool to take photos, so the dress got wet , and, in Jenn's own words: “ It was heavy, as expected, but it didn't affect the quality. or the appearance of the dress, which I thought was amazing! Tried and true. approved! ”. Thanks Jenn, I'm so happy our Gala made your day complete ♥
Jenn's advice for future brides
“He really thinks about what matters to you. Do not let others push you towards things you do not want, even if it is "tradition" . This is the day you will remember forever, and the experiences you have should be the ones YOU want . Everyone has their opinions, but yours, and your future husband's, are the only ones that really matter."
Wow! This is definitely a beautiful love story and an intimate, beautiful and super authentic wedding that doesn't need anything else because it was PERFECT. I also want to thank Sean Brady , the photographer at Kaieri photography and based on the island, for these wonderful photos of this amazing elopement.
And you? Did you also elope to get married? Tell me in the comments! With lots of love,
