An international love storyIt can be said that the story of Ana and Rait is anything but monotonous and boring. Theirs is a love without borders and super international. You yourself can count all the countries that appear in its history! You will realize that borders really do not exist for this love . The two met in 2011 while volunteering in the UK . Rait finished his cooperation when Ana just started hers. So they only coincided two weeks. Rait returned to Estonia, to study. But those two weeks together went a long way, because although Ana stayed a year and a half in Mozambique , they continued to meet from time to time during that time. Finally, when Ana finished her volunteering, she moved with Rait to Estonia , and they currently live together in Budapest . wow! I think it's wonderful when two people as fantastic as Ana and Rait coincide in their lives and decide to share them regardless of the obstacles. As far as they were, they decided to persevere, and that is something I deeply admire. ♥
The relaxed and traveling complicityFrom what Ana has told me, I think that she and Rait are a perfect example of a couple that understands each other, complements each other and, above all, respects each other. They both have a very similar outlook on life. They are very supportive of each other and lead a very relaxed way of life , with afternoons on the couch, TV, football and wine. Without many pressures and with a great passion: traveling . Ana tells me that they normally travel every one or two months , wow! Lucky! I am also in love with the world and I travel whenever I can. In fact, Mimètik Bcn was born from my fascination with different cultures of the world , as I already told you in my first post .
a viking proposition
The way Rait and Ana got engaged could be summed up in one word: “ epic ”. And it is that Rait decided to kneel in a big way, with a Viking-themed request on Estonian television . Yes Yes! How do you hear it! Rait went to the “Tule mulle naiseks” program in July 2016 to declare his love to Ana in a super special way. In this way, they tricked Ana by telling her that she was going to a SPA with Rait and some friends, when suddenly they decided catch a man hitchhiking on the road. This guided them to a Viking village , which would be the scene of the request. There, they dressed Ana as another Viking and recreated the tradition called "stealing the bride", where two sides of the village have to fight for the bride. Ana, to all this, had no idea what was happening, she thought they had the wrong girl! Until, finally, Rait appeared, also dressed as a Viking, and with burning letters behind him that said “ Marry Me ” (Marry me). What a beautiful and original request!
Personally, I am totally in love with this theme. I find its history, traditions and culture in general super interesting. If you are also fascinated by Vikings, I recommend that you take a look at the post I wrote about hairstyles for your wedding , where I recommend Viking braids for brides “medieval princesses with a rocker touch” They are total!
The unforgettable and “handmade” dayAnd, of course, after such a special story, the wedding day could not be less! The date was March 27 of this year, and first, they had to decide where the wedding would take place . And what better way to combine one of your most special days with your great passion, which is to travel. Well, Ana and Rait decided to get married in Vietnam , a destination wedding , at a resort called “ Bamboo Cottages in Phu Quoc ”. The owner was not very interested in doing weddings, but as Ana tells me: "it was his sincerity that made us see that it would be the perfect place for the ceremony." And so it was, since, as we can see in the fantastic photos of Fotowalle that illustrate this post, it is a beautiful place. The wedding was attended by 30 guests from all over the world : Portugal, Brazil, Estonia, Switzerland, UK and even Australia and India! And, although not everyone understood each other, Ana and Rait's friends were doing simultaneous translations of the ceremony. One of the things I like most about this wedding is precisely this naturalness, the fact that everything was done together. You already know that handmade weddings are my favorites, I think it is a great way to unite and for everyone to participate in the ceremony and thus create unforgettable memories of a beautiful rustic wedding on the beach . At Ana and Rait's wedding, everyone collaborated . From organizing the wedding, playing live music, taking pictures, doing the bride's hair and makeup…and even officiating the wedding ! Rait's brother was the one who married them, and let's say he even dressed up for the occasion ;) Also, because of all the nerves he went through, he inadvertently deleted the speech he was going to give to officiate the ceremony just before it started, but it didn't matter , everyone had a great time and it was a perfect wedding . To end the night, Ana and Rait's friends had prepared a lot of games to have fun , and I think it's a great success, a little fun is always good! If you are also thinking of adding games to your wedding , do not miss the next entry that I am preparing for the blog, I am compiling all the ideas of games and activities for your handmade wedding. Subscribe and I will notify you as soon as I have it. You'll love it! After the wedding, Ana, Rait and their families traveled through Vietnam for 2 weeks! And then they spent another three weeks just the two of them! wow! What a super experience ! Unforgettable. ♥
The dress ♥I am really excited that Ana chose Mimètik Bcn for her wedding dress, because her story seems super special to me, and I love being part of it. As you have already read, Ana is not one of those people who gets overwhelmed and worries about everything, she just gets carried away , and I love this way of seeing things. From the beginning she knew that she would not go all over Budapest to buy a wedding dress, so she decided to browse online : and that is how she found Mimètik Bcn, and what would be her wedding dress . Ana decided to ask for some bridal samples to be able to see and touch the materials, and also to be able to consult them and ask some friends for advice. And finally, she was spectacular with her Gala Rustic dress with champagne lace , and, as she also complemented it with a champagne lace shawl , it was beautiful. In addition, she and Rait decided that he would wear Portuguese cork accessories and Ana would wear something related to Estonian culture . And they were both gorgeous!
Advice for future brides
I had never dreamed of my own wedding and I started planning it very close to the date, but I don't think it matters if you have always dreamed about it or if you have only recently started thinking about it; just do what you want to do . It doesn't matter what people think or what they will say. It is your choice to have the ceremony you want, the dress you want and invite whoever you want. Most weddings are about pleasing the guests and that shouldn't be the case.A wonderful wedding ! Thanks to Ana and Rait for sharing their story with me, I wish you all the best on your journey together, if your new life is half as fantastic as your story so far, you'll be great ♥. Did you also have a bohemian wedding on the beach ? Did you get married at a destination wedding on the other side of the world? Tell me in the comments! With lots of love,
