How to have your ideal wedding dress (and in a week!)
Are you getting married and haven't found the perfect dress yet ? Are you looking for a dress that reflects your personality? Do you want a relaxed, bohemian wedding without any pressure (or restrictive dresses)? Finding the dress that has it all isn't easy, and if you're in a hurry and don't want to spend thousands of euros on a dress you'll only wear once, it gets even more complicated. But don't despair! In this post, I'll tell you how to find your ideal wedding dress —in just one week!
I created this Last Minute Brides Guide to explain how my designs work—it's super easy! I'm a little embarrassed, but I recorded this video to better explain my system for finding your ideal wedding dress. And so you can get to know me a little better, too ;)
You'll see that I'll guide you in choosing your bohemian wedding dress , depending on what you're looking for and the time and budget you have available. Short wedding dress, long wedding dress, with or without sleeves, lace dress, tulle dress, simple dress… Find YOUR Mimètik, the one that makes you feel authentic and shine like never before.
In addition to the models we already showed you in our fact sheets, you can create your own combination with a base dress and as many overlayers as you want.
How and when do you need your wedding dress?
The first step on the path to finding your ideal dress will depend on what type of bride you are : whether you're a last-minute bride in a hurry (or on a tight budget), or whether you want your wedding dress completely customized and made to measure.
A Last Minute Wedding Dress takes only one week to arrive at your home. A custom-made dress, on the other hand, takes 3-4 weeks. Either way, we're very fast!
Which Mimètik Bcn collection do you like best?
This is when you choose the style of your wedding dress (sleeves or no sleeves, short or long, etc.). Don't worry about the colors and materials; we'll decide that later. As a tip, I recommend considering the time of year and location of the wedding , and whether you're looking for a dress for the ceremony or, conversely, a dress for the reception and after-party. This is where you decide which style you prefer. My advice is to:
- Choose the Gala if you're looking for a very versatile, multi-position dress , or if your wedding is in spring, summer, or autumn.
- Choose the Frida if you're looking for a versatile dress with sleeves or if your wedding is in autumn or winter.
- Choose the Grace if you're looking for a short dress for the reception or after-party , or if your wedding is a relaxed affair or a civil ceremony in a garden or on the beach.
Let's look at a couple of examples…
Vintage Gala
If you liked the Gala collection more and want to get this Gala Vintage in champagne lace in a "last minute bride" style, it's very simple, just follow these steps.
To get this vintage lace wedding dress, simply choose one of these two options:
- If you'd like a two-piece set: choose the Gala Essential dress plus a Gala overdress in lace or tulle in your preferred color. I recommend this option when you want the top and bottom of the dress to be the same color and material.
- If you want a three-piece set: choose the Gala Essential plus an accessory wrap top and an accessory skirt , also in your preferred materials and colors. This option is best if you want to mix colors or materials (rose quartz lace on the straps and ivory tulle on the skirt, for example).
Frida Bohemian
If you liked the Frida one better and would like to get the Frida Bohemian in ivory lace and tulle from the following photo, it's also very easy, I'll explain it to you now.
To achieve the look of this bohemian lace and tulle wedding dress, you have four options depending on the number of pieces you want to use:
- 2-piece set . Frida essential + Frida overdress . This option includes two complete dresses that, thanks to their versatility, can be adapted to several of the styles you'll find in the manual. In this case, the overdress would need to be made entirely of tulle or lace.
- 3-piece set. Essential skirt + tube top + Frida overdress . Here you would have the base dress separated into two pieces and then the overdress as a single piece. This allows you to reuse the pieces on different occasions. For example, if you wear the top with jeans, you'll look spectacular! In this case, as in the previous one, the overdress would also be made of a single material.
- 3 pieces. Frida essential + bolero accessory + skirt accessory . Very similar to the first option, but in this case you could play more with the accessories, for example combining lace on top and tulle on the bottom, as in the photo I showed you earlier.
- 4 pieces. Essential skirt + tube top + bolero accessory + accessory skirt. The most "piece-by-piece" option, as its description suggests, is the one that allows you the most freedom to mix and match. Here you can also combine tulle and lace, and reuse the top, skirt, and accessories for other looks, both for everyday wear and for special occasions. The bolero, one of my favorites, will look adorable on you any day you go out to a party or dinner.
